Roman became a member of the HKV team in 2023. During his almost 30 years of legal practice, he has worked as an assistant professor at the Department of Criminal Law, Criminology and Criminalistics at the Faculty of Law of Comenius University in Bratislava and as an associate judge at the Regional Court in Bratislava. Roman gained practical experience as a trainee lawyer and as an attorney-at-law at the renowned Havlát & Partners law firm and later as an independent attorney-at-law, who also served as a member of the editorial board of the Bulletin of Slovak Advocacy (Bulletin slovenskej advokácie) published by the Slovak Bar Association. He served as a member of the ad hoc Commission of the Ministry of Justice of the Slovak Republic in prison matters and as a member of the Commission for the Issuance of Opinions of the Attorney General of the Slovak Republic.
During his practice, Roman gained considerable experience in criminal and civil law, commercial law, and fundamental human rights and freedoms. He represents clients in criminal and civil litigation, as well as in proceedings before the Constitutional Court of the Slovak Republic and the European Court of Human Rights.
