Meet Me in HKV – Andrea Hricková
The excellent legal services that we provide to our clients are the result of teamwork. In this column we will introduce you to our new colleagues in a slightly “informal” way. Enjoy, get acquainted.
- Where do you come from? What areas of law do you practice?
Prior to joining HKV, I worked for 7 years at Law & Trust, where I primarily handled M&A, IP/IT, real estate and commercial matters for its client HB Reavis. I also had the opportunity to be part of interesting projects such as Symbiosy, Butterfly Effect and Leaf Academy. Prior to that, I was an Associate at Peterka & Partners for several years, focusing on employment, corporate and pharmaceutical law.
- What do you enjoy most about your work?
What I enjoy most about my job is finding tailored solutions for our clients.
- What trends do you see in the development of your favourite area of law that you practice?
In the IP/IT field, I see an increasing influence of information technology and innovation, which current legislation cannot always keep up with. For instance, the development of software (including source code and its components) using generative AI, which raises a copyright challenge in identifying the true authorship of the work and establishing appropriate licensing terms. This issue also carries significance in mergers and acquisitions involving software transfers, requiring careful consideration of property rights and license management.
- Which prejudice about lawyers do you think is furthest from reality?
That they can always provide an immediate answer and solution to any client’s question.
- What do you like to do in your spare time?
I like to spend my free time with my husband and children, ideally on a walk in the countryside. Apart from that, I like to read books and do a lot of recreational sports.
